Rangers key aspect from Hearts win pinpointed as BBC pundit delivers 'on fire' Tynecastle assessment

Richard Foster has pinpointed the key aspect to Rangers' performance over Hearts that will be the most pleasing for Michael Beale.

The Light Blues arrived in the capital on a 12 game unbeaten run - 10 of those coming under the new boss - while Robbie Neilson and his Jambos hadn't tasted a defeat in ten games. It had the makings of a classic but from the off, the visitors blew away their opponents. Alfredo Morelos grabbed a double while Malik Tillman was also on target in a comfortable 3-0 win.

Rangers also had the ball in the net on numerous occasions however a combination of offside goals and VAR checks ruled those efforts out in a totally dominant display. They remain nine points behind Celtic at the Premiership summit with the champions continuing their relentless charge and not allowing their Old Firm rivals any chance of clawing at the gap.

Foster believes Rangers are starting to move in the right direction under Beale as he highlighted one area of the game that will be the big positive for the 42-year-old.

Speaking on BBC Sportscene, he said: "They are getting better every week and the intensity in which they are playing is growing each week. You see players like [Ryan] Kent and [Fashion] Sakala coming to the fore and producing performances, scoring goals and getting assists.

"Managers don't tend to ever be happy with the way the team is playing and always want more. Until Rangers are top of the league and winning it Michael Beale won't be satisfied with the way they are playing.

"They are moving in the right direction and the most pleasing aspect tonight was the fact typically they haven't been starting games very quickly. Tonight they were on fire from the first minute and blew Hearts away."
