Rangers keeper Robby McCrorie joins Livingston on loan for second time

Robby McCrorie has signed a season-long loan deal with Livingston.

The highly-rated Rangers keeper will continue his career development with another taste of Premiership football.

McCrorie, 22, spent the first half of last term at Championship side Queen of the South before joining Livi in January.

But the stopper, who comes from Dailly in South Ayrshire, saw his time at Almondvale cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic lockdown.

Last week, the Scotland Under-21s international signed a contract extension keeping him at Rangers until 2023.

In an interview with Rangers TV, McCrorie said of his new deal: "It means a lot and I'm buzzing it has got done.

"I first joined the club when I was just turning eight years old and I'm happy that journey is continuing so it means everything to me and my family.

"It gives me more time to develop. I'm still young but the club has shown faith in me to give me this contract and I'm just hoping to repay them by working hard and doing well when I can."

Reflecting on his previous loan spells with Berwick Rangers, Morton, Queens and Livi, McCrorie added: "It's improved me a lot.

"For every young player, I think the best thing you can do is go out there and play games. The most important thing is I've played everywhere I've been. I've went up a level each time and there's definitely been progress."
