Rangers issue fan apology after season ticket mix-up leaves supporters expecting price drop

Rangers have issued an apology to supporters after accidentally setting season ticket renewals live on the club's website - with a massive drop off in price.

Supporters noticed that renewals were in their online basket earlier on Thursday and flocked to twitter to praise the club for dropping their prices.

After a season where fans have been unable to attend any matches, some thought it was a reward from the club after winning the league title.

Many supporters reported a drop off of almost 30 per cent while some were even able to renew their season tickets despite it being a test.

But the club's supporters liaison officer Greg Marshall took to social media to tell fans that it was too good to be true for many of them.

He tweeted: "This morning, our ticketing website carried out some regular tests which has led to some confusion. Apologies for any inconvenience caused."

Rangers have regularly sold out their season tickets in recent years and have a long waiting list for fans who want to join via their MyGers membership scheme.

Steven Gerrard's side will be hoping to walk out to a fullglasgowlive.co.uk/all-about/steven-gerrard

next season and celebrate winning the league.
