Rangers interest in re-signing £500k striker linked with Bristol City and Nottingham Forest rejected

Rangers do not hold an interest in re-signing Josh Windass from Wigan Athletic.

Bristol City and Nottingham Forest have both been linked with £500k moves for the attacker, who joined Wigan from Rangers in 2018, but has netted just eight goals in 54 appearances for the Latics.

Earlier this week, it was claimed by a football analyst that the Gers had an interest in taking the 26-year-old back on loan to Ibrox.

Yet the Athletic's Rangers correspondent Jordan Campbell tweeted that there has been no contact between the Gers and Wigan.

Wigan are said to be open to offers for the player, who Campbell says does not see eye-to-eye with manager Paul Cook.

Whilst the Robins have been linked with the attacker, he is not thought to be a priority for the club.

City instead hold interest in Charlton Athletic striker Lyle Taylor and Peterborough United star Ivan Toney.

The Robins and Forest have continually been linked to similar players all window, with both clubs after a striker.

Both sides have held interest in the likes of Rhian Brewster, Eddie Nketiah and Connor Wickham.
