Rangers installed as title favourites as Celtic win sees odds crash on Steven Gerrard securing Premiership glory

Rangers have been installed as favourites to win the Premiership title after their comprehensive derby victory.

Steven Gerrard 's side beat Celtic on their own patch for the second match in a row, the first time they've achieved that feat since 1995.

The hosts didn't even manage a shot on target and Rangers ' dominance has seen the odds on them winning title number 55 crash.

Scottish firm McBookie.com have responded by making Rangers odds-on at 8/11 to claim their first title since 2011 and ruin Celtic 's historic 10 In A Row.

Celtic are out to evens to win the title, having been as low as 2/5 to win it before a ball was kicked at the start of the season.

McBookie.com spokesman Paul Petrie said: "All the money at the start of the week was for Rangers and they went off clear favourites for the Old Firm game.

"For Celtic to be 2/1 at home for a domestic game is completely unheard of. And those punters proved to be bang on the money too.

"It was a comprehensive victory and Rangers are top of the league, so it's obvious they are now favourites to win the title for the first time in a good while.

"But it's a long season and I'm sure there will be plenty more twists and turns."
