Rangers injury latest as Michael Beale updates on Nicolas Raskin problem

Rangers manager Michael Beale has provided an injury update on midfielder Nico Raskin.

The 22-year-old, who was brought to Ibrox during the January transfer window after falling out of favour at previous club Standard Liege, picked up a knock during his side’s 3-0 win over Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup.

The midfielder played the full 90 minutes that day but missed the subsequent trip to Motherwell on league duty.

Rangers host Dundee United on Saturday and while the cinch Premiership fixture has come too soon for Raskin, supporters of the Govan outfit can expect to see the Belgian back in action before long.

And the Englishman added that centre-half Leon King will be joining Rasking in returning to full training next week.

Speaking at a pre-match media conference, Michael Beale said: “We'll be missing Raskin, he will be returning to training next week.

“Next week, Raskin and Leon King should be available so we will get two more bodies back.”

Speaking after the cup tie against Raith, Beale explained that the midfielder had picked up a minor complaint.

"He had a bit of an issue with his quad after the game the other day, but we don’t think it is anything major," he said ahead of the team's trip to Fir Park.

"It is touch-and-go. We’ll see and if there is any risk it will be a no, but at the moment it is quite promising that he will be okay."
