Rangers have sent a cryptic reminder to the SFA that they expect "consistency" regarding the governing body's disciplinary procedures.
It comes in the wake of an incident involving Celtic captain Scott Brown in Tuesday's game against Kilmarnock in which the skipper went unpunished for an alleged elbow on home midfielder Aaron Tshibola.
Earlier in the day Ibrox manager Steven Gerrard told attendees at his press conference that he expected the same process applied to other teams' players as his own after controversial incidents.
He is set to be without striker Alfredo Morelos for three matches after the Colombian was cited for a stamp on Hibs defender Ryan Porteous.
And Gerrard said: "I think that is what every manager wants - a level of consistency and for every player to be judged in the same way so we find that level of consistency."
His words went out on the official club Twitter account that afternoon - before being pointedly reposted five hours later, minutes after the Celtic match had ended.
The repost contained just one extra word as it hammered home that message of "consistency".
Brown ended on the scoresheet as he headed home the opener before an Odsonne Edouard double and Albian Ajeti's late strike sealed a 4-0 away win at Rugby Park.
The victory cut Rangers' lead in the Premiership to 20 points although they have a chance to restore their original lead with Wednesday night's home match against St Johnstone.
