Rangers in new cinch snub as Gio van Bronckhorst interview carried out using blank board

New Rangers manager Gio van Bronckhorst carried out his post-match media obligations in front of a plain white board — with no sign of the cinch Premiership branding.

The Ibrox boss celebrated clinching all three points against Livingston to get his reign up and running domestically.

Scott Arfield, Joe Aribo and Fashion Sakala were on the scoresheet with Bruce Anderson adding Livi's contribution in the 3-1 away victory.

But curiously the Dutchman carried out his post-match interview in front of a blank backdrop – followed minutes later by opposing gaffer David Martindale's full-time Sky Sports chat featuring the cinch branding as well as Livi's own sponsors.

Online used car platform cinch are the title sponsor of all four SPFL divisions but Rangers refuse to show any of their branding at games because of a long-running dispute over the deal.

As chairman Douglas Park also owns a used car dealership, they have opted not to wear the cinch patch on their shirts, with the club insisting they are not contractually obliged to do so.

But it’s fact this was an away game that provides a more curious twist.

The cinch logo is absent from advertising boards at Ibrox too and the blackout seems to extend to away games as well.
