Rangers icon Walter Smith's memorial service to be streamed live for fans

Rangers will today live stream a memorial service for legendary former boss Walter Smith from Glasgow Cathedral.

The former Rangers and Scotland manager passed away on October 26, aged 73, following a short illness.

A private ceremony was held for Lanark-born Smith on Wednesday, November 3, with the cortege passing Ibrox, so fans could pay their respects.

Today's memorial service is invite-only, but Rangers have made the full service available to watch online for free, via Rangers TV.

A statement issued on social media read: "Invited guests from the Rangers and football family, as well as wider society, will gather at Glasgow Cathedral on Friday to celebrate the life of Walter Smith.

"Supporters should note this service is not open to the general public, however, it will be available free to view across club channels later on Friday."
