Rangers icon Andy Goram to receive final Ibrox farewell as funeral details emerge

Andy Goram's funeral cortege will pass Ibrox next week.

Rangers fans will be able to say goodbye to the legendary goalkeeper, who sadly passed away aged 58 after a short battle with cancer.

Hundreds of Gers supporters are expected to line the streets of Govan next Monday with the funeral cortege expected to pass the stadium at around 1pm.

There will be a wreath-laying ceremony outside Ibrox before the funeral service takes place at at 2pm at Wellington Church in Glasgow's west end.

Rangers legends Ally McCoist and John Brown will speak at the ceremony, with former vice-chairman Donald Finlay QC also providing a eulogy.

Goram, who latterly lived in Coatbridge, is widely regarded as Rangers' greatest ever goalkeeper and tributes flooded in for 'the Goalie' when he passed away earlier this month.

Goram's ex-wife Miriam Wylie and close pal Stan Gordon met with senior Ibrox officials last week to finalise his funeral plans. Rangers held a minute's silence for the iconic figure before their friendly against Sunderland on Saturday night in Portugal.

Former Cambuslang Rangers coach Goram spent seven years at Ibrox and won five league titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups after joining from Hibernian in 1991.
