Rangers hero Ian Durrant's horror injury mocked by Aberdeen fan in sick T-shirt

An image on social media allegedly showing an Aberdeen fan mocking Rangers hero Ian Durrant and the horror injury that devastated his career has caused uproar online.

Durrant, who is currently Stevie Aitken's assistant at Lowland League East Kilbride, was on the receiving end of a shocking Neil Simpson tackle in the infamous Rangers and Aberdeen clash in 1988 that tore the cruciate ligaments in Durrant's right knee.

The sick T-shirt shows the recklessly high challenge in question and reads: "Taking the knee since 1988."

It took him almost three years to recover from the injury and the Rangers idol never hit the heights he had shown before the challenge.

The image has been branded "disgusting", "utterly despicable" and "embarrassing" by fans of both clubs online.

Durrant's son Max shared the picture on Twitter and brushed off the disgusting image with a dig at the Dons, posting: "Rent free the old boy is. Mental that there's more league winners medals in my gaff than on Aberdeen's trophy shelf."
