Rangers hero Dick Advocaat refuses Curucao explanation ahead of Scotland clash

Dick Advocaat has insisted he isn't interested in explaining why he made yet another remarkable u-turn and only cares about his Curacao side facing Scotland at Hampden next week.

The former Rangers boss led the tiny Caribbean nation to the World Cup for the first time ever, but then quit because of family illness.

However, a player revolt led to them pleading for the veteran 78-year-old to return after heavy defeats in March and Advocaat replaced Fred Rutten and will now be the oldest-ever manager in World Cup history - the seventh time he hs come out of retirement in his remarkable career.

And after naming his squad to face the Scots in Glasgow where Adocaat will make a return to Hampden, he insisted he is concentrating on the future only.

Advocaat said: "Enough has been said and written in recent days, now we have to play football, starting against Scotland in Glasgow.

"I have not had any contact with the players since I left.

"But I don't feel like looking back we all have to move forward. Leave the discussions to other people.

"Next Monday, we will gather in Noordwijk in the Netherlands and the focus will be entirely on preparing for play in Scotland first.

"I know we have the players available here who can get us points in the group and that is what we will be concentrating on."

Curacao face Germany, Ecuador, and Ivory Coast at the tournament.
