He told Down The Divisions : "I enjoyed working with Barry and Bob [Malcolm]

"Fergie's training was as good as anybody's that I've experienced in my career - it's probably the best.

"He was very, very demanding Fergie, and I could handle the demands no problem, but there were players there that couldn't handle the demands; they had never had demands placed on them the way they did.

"There were some that we used to it but some just couldn't handle it and found it overbearing when Fergie was on them.

"He was only trying to help them but they couldn't see if like that.

"That's the way Fergie was. If Fergie was shouting and balling at me; he used to say to me give me that wee thumbs up and it makes me f***** even madder, so I don't want to say anything to you.

"I would just say aye and give him the thumbs up and you would see him fuming.

"Some people would let that affect them. If Fergie was shouting on, maybe next time the ball they got the ball they were terrified they would give it away.

"That's the way Barry is. His demands and the standards he has got; he just tries to drag everyone up to his level."
