Rangers hero Ally McCoist loses it over Roy Keane's unlikely Instagram debut as he sends 'keep it going' plea

Ally McCoist admits he's desperate for more after Roy Keane made an unlikely debut on Instagram.

The Manchester United icon became a surprise addition to the wealth of football icons on the social media giant last week.

Keane's no-nonsense approach to life, not just football, is polar opposite to the legions of influencers dominating the platform - and McCoist loves it.

He urged the Irishman to "keep it going" after he marked Valentine's Day with a throwback to being strangled on the pitch by West Ham's Ian Bishop, posted with the caption: "Don't forget to show some love today".

McCoist struggled to hold back the laughter as he dismissed a claim Keane's posts, which also included snaps with his dog and grandson, were "boring".

Keane has already amassed over 1 million followers but, in keeping with his famously high standards, hasn't yet deemed anyone worthy of following back.

And the Rangers legend said on talkSPORT: "No! No!

"This is where I disagree. Keep it going Roy!

"I do not want to see Roy follow anybody! Before we go any further, his post wishing everybody a happy Valentine's Day and showing a bit of love to everybody, was fantastic.

"He's getting strangled by Ian Bishop and there's somebody coming over behind him to finish him off.

"I just thought it was excellent, I really did."
