Rangers handed tough UEFA Youth League tie as Graeme Murty's kids drawn against Spanish giants

Rangers have been handed a difficult UEFA Youth League tie against Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.

The La Liga outfit finished second in their group behind Juventus while also facing Bayer Leverkusen and Lokomotiv Moscow.

Atletico have a number of Spanish youth internationals in their squad and finishing second in their group meant they dropped down to the play-off round to see who reaches the knockout stage.

Rangers have performed well so far and beaten Young Boys and Slovan Bratislava in their two rounds so far.

Those were two-legged affairs while this one will be a one-off tie to see who reaches the next round.

The game will take place in February and offer a chance for Graeme Murty's youngsters to test themselves against some of Europe's best.

In the last round, Rangers beat Bratislava with Dapo Mebude and Nathan Young-Coombes grabbing the goals in a 2-0 home win.

Young-Coombes was the hero away from home as well as he scored a double in a 2-1 victory.
