Rangers handed St Mirren fixture change as time and date set for Betfred Cup quarter-final clash

St Mirren will take on Rangers in the Betfred Cup quarter-final on December 16 with an 8pm kick-off as the game is selected for live television coverage.

Steven Gerrard's side thrashed Falkirk on Sunday to advance to the last eight while the Paisley outfit stunned Aberdeen.

The pair will meet at the Simple Digital Arena later this month and it's now been confirmed that the game will be on Wednesday December 16 for live coverage on Premier Sports.

The match will kick off at 8pm, with Rangers looking go one better than last season when they lost to Celtic in the final.

St Mirren, meanwhile, will hope to cause an upset and keep themselves in with a chance of lifting the trophy they claimed in 2013.

The other quarter-final selected for television coverage is Alloa vs Hibs which will be played on the Tuesday at 8pm.

The Wasps knocked out Hearts in the shock of the last 16 and will now get the chance to take on Jack Ross' side.

There will be a different winner of the competition for the first time in four seasons after Celtic were knocked out by Ross County in the last 16.
