Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor set to miss Kilmarnock Premiership clash

Allan McGregor will sit out of Rangers' final two games, which include Celtic and Kilmarnock.

He was given his marching orders by whistler Bobby Madden after a kick on Hibs striker Marc McNulty.

And now he is looking at as much as a four-match ban for violent conduct.

He will miss the final game of the season at Rugby Park, a game which could be huge for Killie who are looking to secure a European spot for the first time since 2001.

And Killie striker Kris Boyd, who could be making his last appearance at Rugby Park during that game, described it as "absolutely mental".

"It's absolutely mental. I don't know what he is thinking. It's mental to even contemplate kicking out at someone.

"You can't sit here and defend him. We have seen him have a couple of kick outs before.

"I'm lost for words.

"He is 36 now and not a silly little boy. It's stupid.

"Rangers want to go and beat Celtic next week but now it looks like he'll be suspended. It's a crazy decision once again from him. He is a boy who lives on the edge and again it's a moment of madness."
