Rangers game showed how Kilmarnock team are working together according to boss Angelo Alessio

Angelo Alessio feels that their performance against Rangers showed how well the squad are working together.

They lost to a late Connor Goldson goal, but an encouraging performance, especially in the second-half, showed positive signs for Kilmarnock.

Alessio said: "It was a shame that we lost, I think we deserved a better result.

"In the second-half we played very well, I asked the team to pass more at half-time.

"At the same time, it's important now to analyse the game because we conceded from two corners.

"We can't afford to do this in the future."

He added: "We have improved, we are working hard every day.

"Playing Rangers was not easy, they have good players.

"I think we played well, but we need to improve again.

"We will start working on improving for the Hamilton game next week."

Alessio has hit back at recent press outlets claiming that his players are unhappy.

He said: "These players have a good mentality, and a good attitude.

"I see articles about players being unhappy, but this is not true.

"Today they have showed a good performance - I am happy."
