Rangers fixture reshuffle sees two Scottish Premiership clashes brought forward

Rangers have been subject to a slight fixture reshuffle with a couple of kick-offs being brought forward.

Their Scottish Premiership clashes against St Johnstone and Aberdeen respectively have been brought forward.

Steven Gerrard’s side travel to McDiarmid Park to face the Saints on Wednesday 23 December, which had been scheduled for the traditional 7.45pm slot.

But that match will now kick-off at the earlier time of 6pm on the same date after the SPFL confirmed that both clubs agreed to the change.

The other alteration comes at the request of Sky Sports for Rangers' trip to Pittodrie for the New Year fixture against Aberdeen.

They head to the North East on 10 January. Originally scheduled to get underway at 4.30pm, the match has now been brought forward an hour-and-a-half to 3pm.

With the St Johnstone match not being on TV, there was no restriction on the clubs bringing the kick-off forward should they both agree, which is the case.

It comes after Hibs, Celtic and the league had a public disagreement after the Hoops’ request to change their scheduled fixture to accommodate a winter break wasn;t agreed to by the Easter Road club, but was moved anyway.
