Rangers fined and Kemar Roofe hit with UEFA 'assault' ban as Slavia Prague fallout continues

Rangers forward Kemar Roofe has received a FOUR game UEFA ban for "assault" against Slavia Prague - with the club also fined £7800 for "improper conduct".

The English striker was pulled up by the governing body after a poor challenge saw his boot connect with the ball and catch Ondrej Kolar full in the face.

The impact left the Czech keeper with a fractured skull and he has questioned why he's not had a personal message of apology from the frontman.

UEFA have now taken a second look at the tackle, which he was shown a red card for at the time, and have opted to ban the striker for four games. The striker has been cited under Article 15(1).

The Ibrox side have been handed the fine for breaching Article 15(4), where five or more players were found to have been guilty of improper conduct.

And they have been hit with a £7800 fine by European football's governing body.

Roofe will now miss Rangers bid to reach the Champions League group stage.

While action has been taken over Roofe, Rangers have received no final decision from UEFA over the alleged racist abuse suffered by Glen Kamara in Rangers' Europa League tie with Slavia.

The Ibrox midfielder claimed he was called a "f****** monkey" by Kudela, which Ondrej Kudela and his club continue to deny.

The Czech Republic defender was hit with a provisional one match ban.
