Rangers fans want Steven Gerrard to make wholesale changes as they name line-up for St Mirren clash

Rangers fans hope Steven Gerrard will give his fringe stars a chance against St Mirren.

The Light Blues travel to Paisley with a Betfred Cup semi-final spot up for grabs.

Gerrard will want to give some of his first team regulars a night off, but he also knows how great an opportunity it is for Rangers to get their hands on a piece of silverware this season.

The Ibrox side are clear favourites to lift the trophy now holders Celtic are out of the running.

The Rangers boss will also be well aware of the threat the Buddies pose and is unlikely to make wholesale changes.

But supporters believe they have more than enough to progress to the next round even if they rotate the squad as they named the line-up they wanted to see using our team selector.

They would like to see Jon McLaughlin in goals with a back four of James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Filip Helander and Calvin Bassey.

In midfield, summer signing Bongani Zungu is backed to get a run out alongside Joe Aribo and Scott Arfield.

Cedric Itten put in a brilliant performance last week against Lech Poznan in the Europa League and fans want him to lead the line once again, with Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent on either side of the striker.

Rangers fans' most popular XI vs St Mirren : McLaughlin, Tavernier, Goldson, Helander, Bassey, Aribo, Arfield, Zungu, Kent, Hagi, Itten.
