Rangers fans to say final goodbye to kit man Jimmy Bell as funeral passes Ibrox today

Rangers supporters will be given the chance to say their final goodbyes to legendary kit man Jimmy Bell today.

The 69-year-old passed away earlier in the month with tributes pouring in from players, fans and the wider community.

Mr Bell worked for the club for over 30 years, having first joined as a bus driver before taking up his role as the kit man.

A private service will be taking place this morning (Friday) at Wellington Church.

The funeral cortege will then pass Ibrox at 12pm and supporters have been invited to the ground to pay their final respects.

In an emotional tribute online at the time, boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst wrote: “I am devastated to learn of the sad passing of my friend and colleague, Jimmy Bell.

“I had a special relationship, I loved being around him, both as a player and subsequently as manager.

“He was a hardworking, dedicated and selfless Ranger, who epitomised everything this great club stands for.

“He will be sorely missed by everyone at Rangers.

“I send my thoughts and prayers to the Bell family at this difficult time.”
