The news that Steven Gerrard had turned down a move to Bristol City hardly came as a shock to most football fans.
The Liverpool legend is about to begin his third season as manager of one of the biggest clubs in Britain, and will be in charge next month as Rangers travel to Germany in the Europa League.
Bristol City, on the other hand, are currently 12th in the Championship.
That didn't stop the official Amazon Prime Video Sport (@primevideosport) account tweeting: "Would Bristol City have been a step up compared to Rangers?"
"Yes, Scottish football is like English none (sic) league" said @eric_bantona, while @christopherbo84 claimed: The Dog and Duck pub team in Bristol would be a step up from Rangers."
"Look we could all manage Celtic and Rangers it ain’t hard is it really shows how bad they are when it comes to Europe they never get out the group stages, course he ain’t going Bristol he wouldn’t last three months" tweeted @Arsenal_colufan.
Numerous other fans claimed it would be a step up for Gerrard.
They were, however, outnumbered by those who realised just how ridiculous the question was.

Gerrard's Rangers side face Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League last-16 on August 6. Bristol City finished 12th in the Championship after a 1-1 draw against Preston North End on Wednesday night.
