Rangers fans react to Ianis Hagi deal with delight

Rangers fans have reacted with delight after the club confirmed a permanent deal for Ianis Hagi.

The 21-year-old quickly became a fans' favourite following his loan move in January, with his double against Braga in the Europa League inspiring a stirring 3-2 comeback at Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard this evening told the Rangers website that "Ianis is recognised throughout Europe as a young, exciting player so to have him join Rangers on a permanent basis is great news", and that sentiment was clearly echoed by the Ibrox faithful.

The comments below give a flavour of the feeling among fans following the announcement.

"Love you already" - @hrmtaxiservice

"Once he develops physically and adds more consistency Rangers should have a gem. Needs to be used properly, wasted in a wider role too often but at 21 with the talent and potential he has it's a no brainer for the price. Looking forward to seeing him here next season" - @GSmiddy

"If your club isn't splashing the cash during a global pandemic, then I absolutely pity your small time team" - @GarryCarmody

"Brilliant signing, glad he’s here to stay" - @dlans_131

"This is a joke @NicolaSturgeon please look into this. Where is the money coming from?" - @Stevcomartin

"What a breath of fresh air to see the first few comments about Rangers are actually from Rangers fans for a change. Who would've thought it was possible" - @stefcraig84

"Thank f***" - @rudi_morrison
