Rangers fans point to problem area after seeing starting line-up and bench for Willem II clash

Rangers fans have all been saying very similar things after seeing the starting XI and bench for tonight's Europa League clash away at Willem II.

Steven Gerrard made just one change from the side which drew with Hibs at Easter Road, as Allan McGregor comes in for Jon McLaughlin.

The starting line-up has a familiar look to it, with Filip Helander, Connor Goldson, James Tavernier and Borna Barisic in the back four, and a midfield trio of Scott Arfield, Glen Kamara and Steven Davis. Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos and Ianis Hagi line up in attack.

However it's the Rangers bench which has fans talking, and the lack of midfield options there should one of the starting men need replaced.

The bench is as follows: McLaughlin, Bassey, Balogun, Patterson, Defoe, Itten, Jones.

Here's what fans have been saying.

"Really can't afford any more midfielders to get injured, there's no one left to replace them" - @steviebarr6

"No midfielder on the bench!" - @glasgowsportsfa

"Going to go out on a limb and say ... SIGN A MIDFIELDER" - @W20CPW

"We need a midfielder big time" - @enakssor

"A couple of injuries and the squad is looking very thin, and predictable. Regardless of what some say, qualification tonight is essential. Come on Rangers" - @CF3Loyal

"No central midfielder on the bench.. the club really need to get the finger out" - @andyh1872

"Badly in need of some central midfielders" - @shanley64

"Lack of midfield depth is really apparent" - @derekbb2020

"Obvious starting line-up, bit surprised we've went for Jones over a midfielder on the bench" - @Revan1872
