Rangers fans gather to celebrate Scottish Premiership title win

Rangers supporters have gathered in Larkhall to celebrate being crowned Scottish Premiership champions this afternoon.

A few hundred fans belted out the Queen classic 'We are the Champions' as they let off flares and waived flags to celebrate their first league title in ten years as they broke Celtic's dominance.

Steven Gerrard's side were confirmed as champions earlier this afternoon when Celtic failed to beat Dundee United in the lunch time kick-off, The Daily Record reports.

It's the Ibrox sides first Premiership title in a decade after playing in the lowest tier of the SPFL in 2012. The triumph has sparked jubilant scenes across Glasgow but the mass gatherings have been condemned by Nicola Sturgeon.

The First Minister tweeted: "I congratulate Rangers FC on the title win & recognise what a moment this is for fans.

"But gathering in crowds just now risks lives, and could delay exit from lockdown for everyone else.

"If those gathering care at all about the safety of others & the country, they will go home."
