Rangers fans face M8 travel warning after two-car crash near Hermiston Gait

Rangers fans heading across the M8 for tonight's Scottish Cup clash against Hearts have been warned to expect major delays after a two-vehicle crash.

Large numbers of Light Blues fans are expected to travel to Tynecastle by car but may need to allocate more time for their journey after a smash on the eastbound approach to Hermiston Gait roundabout at 1pm this afternoon.

A section of the motorway was closed after drivers reported seeing ambulance, fire crews and police at the scene.

It has since re-opened but Traffic Scotland is warning motorists to expect delays of more than one hour.

Pictures showed a blue car at the side of the road and a white car on a verge.

Police Scotland and Fire and Rescue have been approached for comment.
