Rangers fans destroy Kilmarnock's disabled section during pitch invasion

Rangers fans destroyed the disabled section in the Chadwick Stand as they celebrated their stoppage time winner.

Connor Goldson's injury time winner sparked the scenes which ended up in the disabled shelter at the front of the stand being heavily damaged.

The fans invaded the park and celebrated with the team as Nikola Katic was booked for the celebrations.

One fan was injured during the incident and received medical attention at the scene.

One Kilmarnock fan tweeted: “Rangers fans break the disabled section of the away stand and they are forced to wait at the side of the pitch. Absolute scum.”

Another tweeted: "Rangers fans at Rugby Park jumping on a disabled shelter, collapsing the roof and toppling on to disabled supporters.”

Kilmarnock Football Club are investigating the incident after the section was damaged.

Police Scotland confirmed four men were arrested inside the stadium on suspicion of breaching the peace with a probe being launched into the pitch invasion.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "An investigation is underway following a pitch incursion at the Kilmarnock vs Rangers game on Sunday, August 4.

"The incident resulted in the roof of a shelter being collapsed and one man was injured.

"He received medical attention at the ground.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
