Rangers fans and Steven Gerrard thanked after helping title anthem become a big hit

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has been personally thanked by DJ Owen Westlake after helping his summer anthem 'So Much Love' storm its way into the mainstream music scene.

The dance tune was relatively unknown before it was heard blaring from Gerrard's car back in March, as the Gers manager arrived at Ibrox for the match against St Mirren which would see his side crowned Premiership champions.

As Gerrard's car is mobbed, the song can be heard blaring as fans danced in the street and let off smoke bombs in celebration of their first top-flight league title since 2011.

Ever since then, Westlake's catchy creation has been somewhat adopted by the club's fanbase - so much so that it gained enough traction to be named BBC Radio 1's Dance Anthem on Saturday.

Westlake tweeted: "Yooo yo! So Much Love feat @lloydwademusic has just been made todays Dance Anthem on @BBCR1! Thank you so much @charliehedges and @BBCSounds crew for making this happen!

"Also huge shout out to Stevie G & @RangersFC for putting this record on the map! Summer 2021 lets go!"
