Rangers fan swings from lamppost outside Ibrox as thousands gather for title celebrations

A Rangers fan was spotted swinging from a lamppost during title celebrations at Ibrox this afternoon.

The daring fan scaled the pole as thousands gathered below outside of the stadium to mark the teams first premier league triumph in 10 years.

Photographs captured the moment the man climbed up the lamppost before clambering along the edge to swing above the crowds.

Red, white and blue smoke filled the air around the daredevil as fans set off flares to mark the occasion.

The climber was at first clutching to a football themed jester hat but soon lost grip as he held on and the hat fell to the ground.

They appeared to climb the lamppost shoeless and wore a red mask over their face to conceal their identity.

It is not clear how they managed to safely get back down.

Thousands gathered at the stadium waving union jacks during the Rangers v Aberdeen game today and continued to George Square.

Revellers could be seen walking and dancing on the Squinty Bridge as officers urged them to "take personal responsibility" and go home.

Police confirmed arrests have been made in the city but the exact number is not yet known.
