Luke Graham's potential move to Rangers could be on the rocks after it emerged that Portsmouth are "pushing" to get a deal done.
The Dundee defender has been on the Ibrox club's wishlist for the summer ahead of the new season. It is a move for a player which suits the current ethos of signing Scottish talent.
Graham, 22, is a player on Gers' radar and the central defender is looking more and more likely to leave Dens Park with a more than £1.5million price reportedly on his head.
Derek McInnes taking over the reins at Ibrox may have forced signing plans to slow but now the manager is in the door, that could change with only Lawrence Shankland arriving so far.
But the Light Blues could face stiff competition from Pompey who are reportedly ready to test Dundee's resolve again having had numerous offers turfed out back in January.
Portsmouth, playing their football in the EFL Championship, tried more than once in the winter window to land Graham but could not convince his club to part ways with their star. His stock has only risen since then.
Manager John Mousinho is a fan of Graham and journalist Alan Nixon claims his club are "pushing" to land the Scot who was called into Steve Clarke's World Cup squad previously.
Rangers, meanwhile, could use a defender with Graham's experience despite still at a young age. Nasser Djiga and Derek Cornelius have left the club following the end of their loan deals while Manny Fernandez continues to be linked with an exit.
