Rangers face Josh Maja competition as West Ham 'eye' replacement for Celtic target Albian Ajeti

Rangers face competiton from West Ham for the signature of Bordeaux striker Josh Maja.

The Ibrox side have reportedly lined up the former Sunderland man as a replacement for Alfredo Morelos, who has been linked with a move to Lille.

But Sky Sports claim the Hammers have now entered the race for Maja as one of their strikers Albian Ajeti looks to join city rivals Celtic.

Celtic and West Ham had agreed a season-long loan for the Swiss international, with an option to buy next summer.

But a move has stalled in the past 24 hours as Ajeti flew back to Switzerland to weigh up his options.

The Premier League side haven't wasted any time in finding a replacement, however, as David Moyes looks to reunite with former player Maja, who he played with at Sunderland.

The 21-year-old has impressed since moving to the Ligue 1 in January 2019 and Bordeaux are willing to part ways with the forward if the price is right.
