Rangers explore deal for centre-back who has worked with Russell Martin twice before

Russell Martin is interested in signing centre-back Harry Darling at Rangers.

The Ibrox boss is thought to be keen on a deal for the defender he coached at both MK Dons and Swansea.

Darling, 25, is a free agent after his contract at Swansea City expired at the end of last season.

The Swans had attempted to keep Darling with a contract offer tabled to the stopper; however, interest from elsewhere means he is expected to leave on a free.

According to The Rangers Review, Martin is interested in reuniting with the player at Rangers with the possibility of a free transfer move being explored.

English Championship clubs are also thought to be interested in a move for Darling this summer.

It comes as Rangers are also working to sign Conor Coady from Leicester City.

The defender, 32, has a year left on his contract with Rangers eyeing a move for the versatile central defender.

Rangers currently have Clinton Nsiala, John Souttar and Robin Propper as centre-back options.
