How much money Rangers earned from Europa League campaign after Bayer Leverkusen defeat

For the second year running Rangers have enjoyed a successful Europa League campaign.

The Light Blues were knocked out of the competition by Bayer Leverkusen after a 1-0 defeat (4-1 on aggregate) as the Germans reached the quarter-finals.

But it's been a valiant run for the Light Blues.

Steven Gerrard enjoyed a brilliant debut season in Europe, but has managed to build on that even further by progressing to the last 16 of the competition this term.

Gerrard's man navigated a tricky group with Porto, Feyenoord and Young Boys before sealing an impressive win over Braga.

Rangers also reaped the rewards on the financial front. Participating teams receive various bonuses for reaching each stage, including £500,000 for every win and £166,000 for a draw.

Here's a full breakdown of the prize money Rangers have raked in during their Euro campaign.

Qualification to group stage - £2.5m

Two group stage wins (Porto, Feynoord) and three draws (Young Boys, Feynoord, Porto) - £1.5m

Qualification to last 32 - £875,000 (including runner up bonus)

Two last 32 wins over Braga - £1m

Qualification to last 16 - £965,000

Total: - £6.8m

Leverkusen was a step too far for the Light Blues, but overall the campaign has to go down as a success.
