Rangers Europa League foes Sparta Prague hit with racism fine as repeat offender fans bring third punishment this season

Rangers' European foes Sparta Prague have been hit with yet another fine after racist chanting by a section of their fans.

The Premiership champions visit the Czech capital next week for their second Europa League match, having been beaten 2-0 at home by Lyon in the opener.

They'll be playing in front of 10,000 schoolkids at Letna on Thursday after Sparta were ordered to play behind closed doors due to racist chanting.

And the club has been hit with another sanction for the same offence following their league match with Viktoria Plzen.

Referee Ondrej Berka was forced to suspend the match, which ended 3-2 to Plzen, at the beginning of the second half after vile abuse was aimed at Jhon Mosquera.

The Czech FA has now handed down its sanction, fining Sparta 75,000 koruna (around £2,500).

Following the first league match of the season the club was fined £3,400 and handed a partial stadium closure for racist abuse aimed at Florent Poulola of Sigma Olomouc.

And they'll only be allowed children in the stadium for their Europa League clash with Rangers after vile chants were directed at Monaco's Aurelius Tchouameni in the Champions League third qualifying round.

A racism row erupted on the last occasion the Ibrox club faced Czech opposition, with Ondrej Kudela of Slavia Prague found guilty of calling Glen Kamara a "f*****g monkey".

The centre-back was handed a 10 match ban and saw an appeal thrown out, but has taken his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
