Bayer Leverkusen have announced all their players have tested negative for COVID-19 as the Bundesliga continues their push for a return to action.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel will provide an update this week to top-flight sides in the country hopeful they can get back down to action later this month.
But hopes of a quick-fire return could be on hold after three Cologne players flagged for the virus on Friday.
There's also increasing pressure on the beautiful game to make a unified decision on the 19/20 campaign with French and Dutch FA's among those who have ended their season.
Leverkusen also have one eye on any decision UEFA make of the Europa League - with their final fixture before lockdown a 3-1 win over Rangers in the last 16 of the competition.
Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard 's side are awaiting a final decision on the Premiership with Europe's governing body allowing their member leagues until May 25 to call time on the season.
It comes after Leverkusen director Simon Rolfes detailed the great lengths his side are going to keep their players free of COVID-19 and revealed they even appointed a pandemic expert four years ago.
He said: “In the morning after they wake up, they [players] get five questions they’ve to answer to and that goes to our pandemic officer and our head of medication. So as that’s the first study at home.
“Then we are trying to separate them as much as you can.
"We employ different locker rooms at the stadium to take a look at to withhold the threat as much as possible.”
