Rangers duo in line for debuts vs Hearts as Martin provides squad update

Russell Martin says Youssef Chermiti and Derek Cornelius could make their debuts for Rangers tomorrow.

Heart of Midlothian come to Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership as club football returns after the international break.

Chermiti and Cornelius both joined Rangers on transfer deadline day. The former penned a four-year deal after completing a move from Everton, with Cornelius signing on loan from Marseille.

Ahead of tomorrow's match against Hearts, boss Martin confirmed the pair could feature: "Both Derek [Cornelius] and Youssef [Chermiti] are available for tomorrow," he said.

"We are really happy with the group and the characters we have brought in."

As he spoke to the media at the Rangers Training Centre on Friday morning, Martin confirmed that there are no injury concerns among his squad.

He also discussed Nicolas Raskin's current situation.

The Belgian was left out of the squad that drew 0-0 with Celtic at Ibrox just before the international break, and won't feature when Derek McInnes' men make the trip across the M8.

Martin said: "Nico [Raskin] won't be in the squad tomorrow, he is back training with the group.

"I'm really happy with the squad we have with the window closed, and we now have to go out and put a positive performance in."
