Rangers drawn against Bayer Leverkusen in last 16 of Europa League

Rangers have been drawn against Bayer Leverkusen in the last 16 of the Europa League.

The draw was made this afternoon in Nyon, Switzerland.

Steven Gerrard's side are the only Scottish representatives in the draw following Celtic's loss to FC Copenhagen at Celtic Park last night.

Bayer Leverkusen disposed of Porto in the last 32 of the competition with a 5-2 aggregate victory following a 3-1 away win in Portugal last night.

They currently sit 5th in the German Bundesliga.

The first leg will take place at Ibrox on Thursday, March 12 and the return seven days later at the BayArena, with Rangers facing off against Celtic in the Scottish Premiership in between.

The Ibrox side progressed to the last 16 of the competition following a 1-0 away victory against Portuguese side Braga on Wednesday of this week.
