Rangers double down on SPFL inquiry calls as Ibrox club set out timeline to 'produce our evidence'

Rangers have reiterated their call for a full inquiry into the SPFL, stating they will "produce our evidence at the appropriate time".

The Ibrox club have questioned the process by which clubs voted to end the lower league seasons early, a resolution which afforded the SPFL the power to do the same in the Premiership at a later date.

Rangers have called for an independent inquiry, and despite a probe by Deloitte which found no wrongdoing they insist that did not constitute a full investigation.

The remit focused on Dundee's email vote and has been criticised for being narrow in its scope and focus.

And Rangers have promised to provide evidence to fellow clubs ahead of a potential vote on opening up a probe into the governing body.

A statement said: "There are key issues to be discussed and agreed within Scottish football including the circumstances and dates on which football can resume, the health and safety of all involved and the financial implications for members.

"It is vital that those involved in making those decisions have the confidence and support of member clubs. An independent investigation provides a route to achieving this.

"It has always been Rangers’ intention to produce our evidence at the appropriate time. The evidence will be provided to all member clubs well in advance of a general meeting to approve an independent investigation."

Rangers have previously called for SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster to be suspended while an investigation takes place.
