Rangers diehards plot UK chart takeover as fans hatch plan to send Ibrox anthem to No.1

A group of Rangers fans are hatching a plan to push Ibrox anthem '(Simply) The Best' to No.1 and give Tina Turner her first ever UK chart-topper.

The 1992 cover of Bonnie Tyler's original version has greeted the teams as they emerge from the tunnel for decades.

Back in 2010, fans tried to make a similar push but missed out on the top spot, although they did manage to push the song into the top 10.

However they're determined this time to toast the club's expected 55th league title with a co-ordinated mass downloading campaign.

Steven Gerrard's side stand just seven points away from a historic Scottish Premiership win after Sunday's results.

The league leaders went 18 points clear after they saw off Dundee United before Ross County's shock win at home to Celtic saw the champions hit another stumbling block in a dreadful season at Parkhead.

Fans' forum Follow Follow tweeted: "It’s 22 years since Tina Turner had a UK top 10 hit and FIFTY FIVE years since her first charting single. She’s never had a UK #1 single."

And podcast Heart and Hand replied: "Everybody download it on same day from either Apple or Amazon. About 30,000 and it’s done."
