Council chiefs have confirmed Sunday’s Old Firm derby at Ibrox will boast a capacity crowd.
Nicola Sturgeon earlier on Tuesday hinted outdoor events were not under threat despite the dramatic rise of 50 per cent in Covid cases.
But the message was clouded a touch later in her briefing when she warned attendances will be considered "very carefully".
However Record Sport contacted Glasgow City Council, who have been passed jurisdiction for crowds, and they are happy for the weekend showdown to be played in front of a full house.
Their confirmation came after rumours swirled online Ibrox would be hit with a reduced capacity of 40 per cent.
A council spokesperson said: “Full capacity is available for August 29 and on an ongoing basis, unless covid-related guidance or restrictions change.
“Clubs’ ticketing arrangements may make a difference to the actual number of spectators in the ground.”
No Celtic fans will be present at the game after the Parkhead club could offer no guarantees they would allow Rangers supporters into the second derby of the season.
