Rangers defender Jon Flanagan set to miss Kilmarnock clash after elbow on Scott Brown

Jon Flanagan is facing a sweat over an SFA rap this week, meaning he could miss the clash with Kilmarnock on Sunday.

The defender was booked by whistler Kevin Clancy after an elbow on Celtic captain Scott Brown.

Compliance officer Clare Whyte has reviewed the footage and has decided to cite the defender.

He will answer his case on Thursday in a fast-track hearing, and he could face a two-match ban - which would include Sunday and the first game of next season.

Flanagan is the latest Rangers player to show indiscipline with 12 red cards so far this season. Allan McGregor was also cited by Whyte earlier in the campaign after an incident with Lewis Ferguson in a 4-2 win over Aberdeen.

Alfredo Morelos has been sent off five times and Daniel Candeias twice as well as one each for Flanagan, McGregor, Ross McCrorie, Scott Arfield and Halliday.
