Rangers communications director 'resigns' from Ibrox club as 'personal' reasons lead to exit

Rangers head of communications David Graham has resigned from his role at the Ibrox club.

He arrived in 2020 to replace Jim Traynor at the Light Blues. He is a former DUP Councillor and leading Orange Order member was appointed to the Ibrox board in December last year as Director of Communications.

Graham worked closely with those across both playing and non-playing staff on top of his wide-ranging brief at the Light Blues. Deputy chairman John Bennett told supporters a fortnight ago the club could have been doing better with its communications but it has now been revealed by the Scottish Daily Express that he has left his post due to family and personal reasons.

Fans have been critical during his tenure, notably during the agreement to play in the Sydney Cup alongside rivals Celtic before withdrawing. A source said: "We can confirm David Graham has resigned from his position of Communications Director at Rangers."

Graham said at the time of his arrival: “Rangers is proud to be a modern, diverse football club where people from all backgrounds, cultures and communities can unite to celebrate and support a common cause.

"If you see the ground-breaking work the IFA have done to make Windsor Park as inclusive as possible, we’re going to learn lessons from Northern Ireland.

"We’re going to build and continue to have Rangers at the forefront of the football conversation as the world’s most successful football club."
