Rangers commentator Tom Miller rips Celtic TV's 'fake news' claim as he roars 'we only deal in facts'

Rangers TV commentator Tom Miller ripped Celtic counterpart Gerry McCulloch's "fake news" claim to shreds after Saturday's derby win.

Callum McGregor's own goal was the difference in the 1-0 home victory in Govan following a red card for visiting defender Nir Bitton.

Pass to Paradise presenter McCulloch had branded the league leaders' title advantage "fake news" after Neil Lennon's side emerged 2-0 winners against Ross County at home last month.

He said: "It's up to the boys here to do their own job. Stephen, how easy or difficult is it to blank everything else out?

"Not even that but just to not even look at the league table, because with those games in hand the league table is a bit of fake news just now isn't it?"

Back then the gap at the top was 16 points but McCulloch was on the receiving end of a barb from the man with the Ibrox mic at the weekend, as Miller signed off the win with one of his monologues that have on occasion come back to bite him.

His "look to your laurels" oration at the end of last season's derby win at Celtic Park ended up proving popular with opposing fans.

Just months after that match a post-January collapse from Steven Gerrard's men allowed their rivals to scoop a ninth Premiership trophy in a row.

But this time around Rangers now hold a 19-point lead - which will still be in double-digit territory even if Celtic win all three games in hand - and Miller couldn't resist a dig at his counterparts across the city.

After Bobby Madden blew the full-time whistle, he said: "Steven Gerrard's side get the points. A hard fought victory.

"Celtic reduced to 10 men with the red card to Nir Bitton, and almost immediately Rangers capitalised.

"The last touch may have come off McGregor from a Tavernier corner, the only goal of the game.

"We only deal in facts, not fake news, but 19 is the difference at the top of the table."
