Rangers 'close in' on deal for transfer target with medical to take place

Rangers are reportedly close to securing a loan deal for Wolves defender Nasser Djiga.

Gers' interest in the centre half, 22, came to light this week and while it was thought they had a good chance of securing a loan, they did also face lots of competition.

However, Sky Sports is now reporting that a temporary switch to Ibrox is close with a medical due to take place in the coming days.

It is claimed this would be a straight season-long loan with no obligation or option to buy.

The 22-year-old Burkina Faso international moved to Mollineux in a deal worth up to £10million from Red Star Belgrade during the January window.

He played only a handful of times in the Premier League but is viewed as a top talent who is ready to go out and get first team experience elsewhere.

He would likely become the second of three centre-back signings for Russell Martin, with Emmanuel Fernandez in the door and a deal being worked on to bring Conor Coady in from Leicester.
