Rangers clash with Hibs brought to a halt as fans throw flares onto the pitch

Rangers clash with Hibs was brought to an abrupt halt after fans threw flares onto the pitch.

The second half was well underway at Easter Road when the pyrotechnics were thrown onto the Easter Road turf

After 55 minutes with the home side on the attack, a loud bang was heard inside the ground.

Television cameras quickly panned in on both a green and blue flare which had been lobbed onto the park from the home and away ends.

The blue one landed inside Matt Macey's box and referee John Beaton immediately stopped play during the Scottish Premiership clash.

The ground staff in the capital cleared the flare with the clash brought to a standstill for several minutes.

It's the second consecutive game that Rangers have played that has been stopped due to an off-field incident.

The start of the second half of Livingston ’s clash was delayed after home keeper Max Stryjek was pelted with snowballs.

Lions boss Davie Martindale then ran on to pitch as he gestured for his players to come off it and later branded the support "doughballs with snowballs".
