Rangers are set field a January bid from Everton for teenage defender Nathan Patterson - according to reports.
The 19-year-old has burst onto the scene for club and country in the last year - earning rave reviews in the process. Not least from Light Blues boss Steven Gerrard.
And, according to the Scottish Sun, Patterson has plenty of admirers south of the border, too, including Gerrard's former club the Reds.
However, it is Merseyside rivals the Toffees who are supposedly lining up an offer for the kid defender in the winter window having tracked him since the start of the year.
The Gers knocked back a bid for Patterson, who is contracted until 2024, last month with Gerrard labelling the £5m approach a joke.
At the time, he said: "That’s definitely come out of a joke book, surely.
“We want to keep our best players, especially our home-grown and local ones.
“He’s not someone we’re looking to move on, but every single person has got a number.
“But let me tell you now, £5m is so far away it’s unreal.”
Rangers, supposedly, want at least double that for the right-back, who has three Scotland caps to his name, and is one of the brightest talents in our game today.
