Rangers boss Steven Gerrard 'won't be daft' if possibility of Leeds United job comes up

Steven Gerrard will not be daft if he was ever approached by Leeds United.

That is according to Alan Hutton, who believes the Rangers boss will always have to consider his next career move if approached by a Championship or Premier League club.

There has been talk in the past of Gerrard potentially being a future Elland Road boss but he currently remains at Ibrox after reportedly turning down an approach from Birmingham City.

Speaking to Football Insider, Hutton was asked whether he could ever see Gerrard moving to a club like Leeds.

The former Aston Villa full-back said Gerrard would not be daft over his future but expects him to remain at Ibrox for the time being.

He said: "I think you always have to think about it, you’re not daft and he definitely won’t be daft.

"You’ve always got to think of the situation that the club’s in and he’s obviously got aspirations and dreams to manage at a high level.

"If there was a top Championship team, or a Premier League team, I think he would have a think about it but at the moment in time, he’s very into was he’s doing and that’s building something at Rangers.

"He’s building a young, hungry team to go forward and compete against Celtic and that’s his main aim at the moment.

"I don’t think it would look great if he jumped ship early doors

"I think he’s here for the next few years and he wants to do something special with Rangers."
