Rangers boss Steven Gerrard to 'make personal visit' to Liverpool in bid to keep Ryan Kent

Steven Gerrard will reportedly make a personal plea to Liverpool in a bid to keep Rangers loanee Ryan Kent.

The winger has been one of Rangers' key players this season and Gerrard is desperate to hold on to him for next campaign.

Kent has been attracting interest from England and Liverpool have an asking price of around £12m slapped on him, but Gerrard will attempt to use his connections to keep him in Glasgow, report the Sun.

Gerrard will visit Liverpool's Melwood training ground and speak to Jurgen Klopp and about the possibility of a second loan spell in Glasgow.

John Souttar eyed by Rangers as Steven Gerrard targets move for Hearts star

Kent is currently serving a two-game ban for lashing out at Celtic captain Scott Brown during the 2-1 defeat to Celtic last month.

The 22-year-old was named Rangers' Young Player of the Year at the club's awards dinner last week and has previously spoken of his desire to stay at Ibrox.

He said: “It’s something I’d consider. Definitely. The fans are amazing here.

“The club has a lot of history. It’s an amazing club but it’s a conversation they will have to have with Liverpool – not me.

“The fans seem to really enjoy players getting forward and that suits my identity as a footballer. I really enjoy picking the ball up, dribbling at defenders and getting past them."
