Steven Gerrard has taken a pop at the SPFL and TV companies for adding to Rangers and Celtic's gruelling domestic-European schedule.
The Ibrox side are back in action on Sunday with a lunchtime kick-off against St Johnstone in Perth - just 62 hours after their strength-sapping Europa League win over Feyenoord at Ibrox.
Gerrard will shake his side up for the return to league action. But several key men such as James Tavernier and Ryan Jack are expected to be turned around ready for action.
Rangers face an early rise to head to Perth. And Gerrard reckons the prompt Scottish Premiership kick-offs are detrimental to both Scotland's European representatives with Celtic taking on Kilmarnock at 1pm.
He said: "For both Scottish teams in Europe it would help not to have the early kick-offs on a Sunday after the Thursday night matches.
"Thursday to Sunday you don't get much time most of the players will be on recovery, but that is the same for a lot of teams and why we have gone for volume in terms of the squad as I need to be able to freshen up the squad."
Meanwhile Gerrard paid tribute to the Rangers support for their part in creating an atmosphere he described as "addictive" in the win over Feyenoord.

Reflecting on the 1-0 win - which came against the emotional backdrop of tributes to Fernando Ricksen - he said: "I think the level of performance was the most pleasing, especially the first half my only disappointment was not going in with more than one goal.
"The players were outstanding at carrying out the gameplan.
"Around the world, there are a handful of stadiums that can create that sort of atmosphere on a European night.
"They are addictive and we want more of it. The emotion in the ground and the performance was fitting on a difficult night.
"For me, it is very important to move on as quick as we can because the games come quick and fast and St Johnstone will be a difficult and different challenge."
